I. Thanksgiving MAGNIFIES God, vs 15
1. It exalts God’s omnipotence
2. It draws us near to God ( he came back to thanks Jesus) – James 4:8
3. It shows appreciation to God -“Enter his gates with thanksgiving and his courts with praise; give thanks to him and praise his name. For the Lord is good and his love endures forever; his faithfulness continues through all generations. (Psalm 100:4-5 NIV)
II. Thanksgiving springs a habit of WORSHIP, vs 16
1. It humbles us to worship ( 2 Sam 6:13-26- David despised by Michal)
2. It shows our unworthiness ( threw himself at Jesus’ feet)
3. It submits us to God with all we have – tithes, works, life… Mtt 25:40 whatever u do to others u do to Jesus)
III. Thanksgiving brings WELLNESS vs 17-19
1. It rises the humble, David who was left out by his father rose to prominence (1 Sam 16:12-)
2. It saves the lost ( “you are made whole” vs 19 NKJV- meaning body, soul and spirit regenerated)
3. It brings breakthrough – Peter’ chain got broken – Acts 12:1-5c
