You traveled all this way to visit who?
My grandmother!
She has a special place in my heart and life
What about your father?
I don’t know the man!
You know, whatever happened between
Dad and mom,
happened between them!
You have to let it go!
You have to forgive him!
I called you a stranger!
But a messenger of God to me you were!
Kept your message precise,
I could not have been more wrong in assuming
that was not a message for me.
I am humbled,
By the simplicity of the way that God communicates.
I thank you for speaking boldly
For when I was unaware of the journey
God was bringing me into,
He spoke louder in His stillness.
Even when I was blind to His presence,
God was mindful of me.
I thank you Lord, for your messenger
and the beginnings of your work on my heart.
The hidden scars that I had suppressed
We’re holding me captive
Though no chains were visible
The bitterness that flowed in me
Couldn’t be found because of you
You took the nails for me
And you took all the scars;
The matters of the heart,
Unseen
Blinded by the pains
That left no visible scars
But carried troubled and heavy life without your peace.
You oh God calmed the storms,
when I gave it all to you Lord.
The peace which passes all understanding;
You are mine to hold,
the anchor of my soul, Lord Jesus.
